API description

OpenCO2net offers a web API through which emission factor data can be obtained using HTTP request (see picture). The OpenCO2 API uses API-key authentication and authorization.

Emission factors are requested through the API by emission factor classes:

Public transport

Greenhouse gases

District cooling

District heating

Flights

Service

Fuel

Buildings

Food and drink

Electricity

Electric device

Freight traffic

Industrial steam

Product

Machinery and equipment

Equity investment

In special cases, emission factors can be requested separately. A desired unit of emission factors can be added to the request in order to streamline the calculation. Subscriptions are sold for the interface and are priced based on the number of emission factor categories. See pricing.
