Purso is a Finnish company that designs and manufactures versatile aluminum solutions for industry, building facades, and lighting. Founded in Nokia, Finland, the company has grown steadily over the past 60 years and today employs around 300 professionals.

Emission calculation as a measure of sustainability efforts

Purso calculated its own greenhouse gas emissions for the first time using data from 2020, and in 2023, the company published its first sustainability report. Sustainability is a central part of the company’s operations and has become increasingly significant in light of the possible implementation of CSRD reporting.

Purso has been working on environmental responsibility for a long time. The company established its own smelter for aluminum recycling in the early 1980s. By recycling aluminum, a significant amount of emissions can be avoided. Today, the company uses recycled Greenline aluminum across all its business areas, offering customers lower-emission aluminum products. The next step in the company’s emissions reduction goals is to reduce the use of fossil fuels in production, primarily by electrifying processes.
